I have been enchanted by the art and science of photography for over 30 years. I inherited a fully manual, entirely mechanical Kodak Retina Reflex SLR camera from my great-grandmother, Stella.
Blessed with a thriving arts program at my public high school, I spent most of my senior year in the darkroom, making magic happen on film and photographic paper. When I first began to photograph dance concerts professionally,
I would shoot on color slide film, and send it to a lab for special processing to reconcile the
difficult conditions of low light and movement in the theatrical setting.
I shot my first wedding on film using manual settings in 2004. I transitioned to digital photography in 2005.

Adapting to the capabilities of my cameras, I have enjoyed working in video as well; this feels like a natural
extension of my passions for movement and image-making. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I enjoyed working with college dance departments, using video to share the work of the students with audiences
who were not allowed onto college campuses and into packed theaters to witness.

I love to collaborate with choreographers to develop video media that documents their work with
special care and attention to the themes and conditions of each piece.
It is truly an honor to be with artists sharing their work, with families
celebrating their love, with professionals honing their image.
